Keep Calm & Bokeh On...

I sit here rocking my baby to sleep, thinking about what to blog next. I just read a blog post from a fellow photographer that talked about the importance of consistency when blogging. Your blog will be a lot more successful if you write often and keep it updated. This totally spoke to me...because this is something I have yet to do! Mainly, because up till now I didn't really realize the importance of blogging AND I thought, "who would want to read my blog"...I am not the most eloquent writer ;) Putting that aside, I have decided to make a real effort to blog more consistently! Even if no one else reads it...at least I know my mom does, haha.

I am so excited for tomorrow's wedding! I've gotten to know the lovely bride, Whitney over the past year or so. We met through mutual friends on fb. She has been a wonderful "fan" of my buiz for awhile now. I'm so thankful for people like her. I shot her engagement shoot last November and had a blast. Click here, Whitney&Jordan:Engagement to see her shoot! Her and her (almost!) hubby Jordan are so sweet and just genuine people. They were clients and have become friends...and how much more exciting is it to shoot a friend's wedding!!!??? That's how I feel about most of my wonderful clients! The wedding is at the Shaffer Farm here in Chico and I just know it's going to be gorgeous. I cannot wait to see how it all comes together.

Anyways...I should reeeeeeeally go to bed now. I don't have to be at the wedding until around 2pm...but I should try to get some sleep, lol. I'm a night owl as you all probably have guessed...so going to bed early is not easy for me! And what is a blog post without a photo??? Below is a play-on the quote, "Keep calm and carry on" that speaks to photographers...it's awesome and now on my b-day gift list!

Thanks for reading! Check back here in a couple days for my next post! :)

Emily & Andrew: Wedding

With my wedding season in full bloom, I thought it was about time to start blogging again! I have been neglecting my blog for far too long. Not that I didn't have the best reason- my sweet little Ryden was born! He is the best thing to EVER happen to us. He is now already 4 months old and I'm getting back in the swing of things. Anyways...I could go on and on about my little love (and will probably post more about him very soon!)

Today I write about my first wedding this season. It was the perfect wedding to get me back in my groove. Emily & Andrew are the sweetest, most genuine and relaxed couple to be around. They were having the best time on their wedding day and it really showed. It's obvious how much they love each other :)

Their wedding took place at the beautiful Cory's Country Inn. This was my first time shooting there and I have to say, it reminded me so much of Alice In Wonderland! Tall green hedges, animal shaped bushes, brick path ways...it is gorgeous. I always love shooting at new venues. Their decor was perfect. So many details and unique touches. The food was amazing. Everyone danced the night away and the lovely couple took off though a sparkler tunnel!

I almost forgot to mention the amazing lighting we had!!! It was a very hot day....with not much shade there and we got a cloud cover! Which meant amazing, soft lighting!!! I was so thankful. The rich colors you get from this kind of lighting is awesome.

It was such a fun day and I'm so glad I got to be a part of it! Congrats Emily & Andrew! I'm so happy you choose me to be your photographer :)
